Eduardo Gardeta, Partner
Eduardo Gardeta is a partner in the Tax Law Department of Garrigues, where he has pursued his professional career since joining Arthur Andersen Tax & Legal in 1987. He specializes in indirect taxation and tax litigation, which has resulted in him representing numerous clients before all jurisdictional levels of the national courts, including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court, as well as before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
The work he performed on one of those cases deserved a special mention in the Dispute Resolution section of the Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Awards 2012, with Garrigues winning the award for Most Innovative Firm in continental Europe.
For over fourteen years, Eduardo Gardeta has been consistently named by international publications such as Chambers & Partners and the International Tax Review as one of Spain’s leading tax lawyers.
He was recently appointed by the European Commission as a reserve member of the VAT Group of Experts, a body charged with advising the Commission on the preparation of EU legislative instruments and other policy initiatives and providing information on their implementation in the VAT area.
Eduardo Gardeta has extensively lectured on the Master’s course and Executive program on Taxation offered by Centro de Estudios Garrigues for several years and has spoken at numerous courses, events and conferences held by various organizations.
